Bringing a Labrador into your life is a big decision, and we’re here to make sure it’s the right one. At Breckin, we focus on what matters most to you: steady temperaments, proven health, and the beautiful English type our dogs are known for. Our puppies are carefully bred from healthy, proven lines and raised in our home with plenty of love and socialization. From the very beginning, they’re prepared to shine - whether in the show ring, out in the field, or as your family’s best friend.
Our Story
Since 1998, Breckin Labradors has been devoted to preserving the English Labrador Retriever. What began as a love for the breed has grown into a lifelong commitment to careful, responsible breeding that keeps the Labrador’s true purpose at heart — a dog that is sound, beautiful, and steady in temperament.
Breeding With Purpose
We plan just one to two litters per year, always with health and temperament as the top priority. A Labrador must be confident, biddable, and eager to please. Every breeding dog having OFA clearances for hips, elbows, heart, and eyes, plus DNA testing for hereditary conditions. Each is also proven in the show ring, earning AKC Championships, Grand Championships, and Working Certificates that reflect the highest standard of the breed.
As active members of the Pioneer Valley Labrador Retriever Club, Greater Boston Labrador Retriever Club and the Labrador Retriever Club, Inc. (where we proudly serve in leadership and specialty show roles), we are deeply committed to the sport and the future of Labradors. Our dogs compete in AKC Conformation and performance events, and we encourage all of our puppy families to get involved in activities like agility, obedience, and hunt tests.
The Breckin Legacy
Our Labradors are known not only for their success in the ring but also for the joy they bring into everyday life. Many have gone on to become therapy dogs, partners in the field, and beloved family companions. Puppies are raised in our home with daily handling, socialization, and outdoor play. By the time they go home at eight weeks, they are confident, adaptable, and ready to thrive in their new families.
The Breckin Legacy
Breckin Labradors is also proud to support our families beyond puppyhood. We offer boarding for Breckin dogs, stud services from our proven males, and professional grooming for both dogs and cats through Gretchen’s Grooming.
Club Affiliations
We are active members of the Labrador Retriever Club of the Pioneer Valley, Greater Boston Labrador Retriever Club, and the parent club LRC, Inc. These affiliations allow us to stay connected with the broader Labrador Retriever community, participate in events, and continually learn and grow as breeders. Our commitment to these clubs underscores our dedication to the breed and our desire to contribute positively to its future.
